And that leaves us in the here and now. His current music is pretty rock solid. Put aside your assumed prejudices and come to this with an open mind. Sure, he’s adapting to write music for whatever is the most marketable sound (and image- 2007, 2010) of the year but at least he’s good at it. And if television told us nothing else about him, the dude’s got a good voice.

Thomas. I like this recommendation.
I reckon it's fair to cut corby a little slack on the Idol comparisons though. Once you are on that bandwagon it would be hard to do anything but what they tell you (including clothes). I'm impressed he even got off.

Who would have thought. I imagine that even if he put our an all time classic of an album he'd still be heavily criticised. I can't think of too many actors that have successfully crossed over to music. Maybe Zooey Deschanel but she had Ben Gibbard on her arm and already had arthouse credibility.
