I imagine that even if he put our an all time classic of an album he'd still be heavily criticised. I can't think of too many actors that have successfully crossed over to music. Maybe Zooey Deschanel but she had Ben Gibbard on her arm and already had arthouse credibility.

I reckon it's fair to cut corby a little slack on the Idol comparisons though. Once you are on that bandwagon it would be hard to do anything but what they tell you (including clothes). I'm impressed he even got off.
